**Step 2:**&#x20;

For the first time you stake with us, you'll need to approve staking before you can start by clicking on the Approve Staking button.&#x20;

After approving, enter the amount of [$MATC](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24MATC\&src=cashtag_click) you want to stake with Stader. Once decided click on the “Stake MATIC” button. You can also view the amount of [$MATICX](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24MATICX\&src=cashtag_click) you’ll receive in return on this screen.

**Will the MaticX token have to be bridged to the Polygon Mainnet?**&#x20;

Yes, if you stake on the Ethereum Mainnet, you'll need to bridge your MaticX tokens over to the Polygon Mainnet in order to use them in DeFi applications etc. For a step by step guide to bridging [refer to the Bridging Section of these docs here](/polygon-staking-on-stader/bridging.md). <br>
